Dear runner
You are about to take part in ehunmilak (ehm) or goierriko2haundiak (g2h). The organisation would like to make some recommendations to improve the management of the event amongst everybody involved
1.- You will have already received the road book through the post (also in www.ehunmilak.com). In it you can find all the details of the race, so we strongly recommend you read it. In particular, please note the times of the various events (runner’s bib collection, runner’s bags & shower bags drop off, access to the start area, the start times of the races…) also the compulsory personal documentation required to collect your runner’s bib.
2.- When you collect your runner’s bib, you must show all the obligatory material that you have prepared to the volunteers in charge of checking the backpacks. The backpack will be marked so that no other participant can use it. You cannot take part in either race if you do not pass this obligatory check. To check what the obligatory material is that you must carry with you, please refer to the road book.
3.- ehunmilak will carry out checks in the start area: obligatory material, seal of backpacks and identification bracelet. The obligatory material will also be checked in some checkpoints/aid stations of both races to every runner. Therefore, you must carry all of the obligatory material throughout the whole of the race. Refer to article 29 of the Race Regulations; penalties to offenses committed for not carrying obligatory material.
4.- The main rule in the race is to be semi-self-sufficient. These races are based on the principle of semi-self-sufficient individual racing. Semi autonomy is defined as having the capacity to be autonomous between two refreshment points, not only for food but also for clothing and security, which means being able to adapt oneself to problems which could be encountered or envisaged. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to be accompanied, or agree to be accompanied, along all or any part of the race by a person that is not enrolled, and to receive external assistance. ehunmilak will provide the necessary resources to verify its compliance. Refer to article 29 of the Race Regulations for penalties to offenses committed in these cases.
5.– We want to point out that in all of the aid stations there is an area for recycling waste: paper (blue bins), plastics (yellow bins), organic (brown bins) and general waste (grey bins). Please depose of your waste in the correct bins provided. In addition, when you collect your runner’s bib you will be given a small bag to carry with you during the race where you can keep any waste between aid stations. It is prohibited and you will be penalized if you throw any waste away during the race (for example, residues of gels)
6.- When you finish the race there will be a normal aid station in the finish area. The full aid station can be found at the sports centre, along with showers, massages and a relaxation area. There will be a bus from the finish area to the sports centre every 30 minutes.
7.- Please, download the updated track of the race from our website (www.ehunmilak.com).
8.- We recommend installing Alpify Safe 365 application in your mobile. In this way, in case of any incident, the assistance services could locate you faster.
9.- Finally, remember the steps to follow in the event of an accident, in order to be able to process the incident as soon as possible with the insurance company. This procedure was explained in a previous mail: “What to do in the event of an accident”.
We hope you enjoy the race.
Best regards,
ehunmilak Ultra-Trail® organization
